Tulare to Ontario to Fontana to Redlands to Yucaipa, CA

Thursday October 28, 2004

6:30am  I woke up in Badjer's van. I slept pretty good. I walked over to the bathrooms here at the rest stop to take a piss. I saw some guy and he told me, "Kind of chilly, huh?" I'm going to try and tell him my story. I went to the bathroom and I saw him outside just standing there. I went up to him and asked him, "Can I tell you a really interesting story?" I told him my intro and when I asked him if he was willing to listen, he said, "Nah, that's alright." I told him thanks anyway. It's not like he had anything else to do.

6:45am  Ray hooked me up with a cigarette at the rest stop. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

7:11pm  Frank hooked me up with a cigarette at the rest stop. I appreciate it, brother.

8:26am  We are leaving from the rest stop. Art and Badjer heated up some coffee. Wake-up juice. Now we're taking off.

The rest stop we stopped at was in Tulare.

11:36am  We turned right at four corners and now we're going down 395. Towards Adelanto.

Here's a picture of all the windmills.

12:54pm  We stopped at the Pilot Truck Stop in Hesperia. There's supposed to be a major traffic jam going towards Riverside, which is Art and Badjer's destination. Art's hooking me up with some food at the Wendy's here.

     1:27pm  We're leaving.

2:05pm  I just got dropped off in Ontario! In the same exact place that trucker dropped me off last year. On the side of the highway. The TA truckstop is right on the other side of the highway.

2:18pm  It's happening again! Like I said, that's the same exact place I got dropped off last time too. Badjer had almost missed the entrance ramp to get on I10. He was going up and to the left where the ramp goes to I10 and in the distance I saw the TA truckstop! He told me, "Well, I'm going to have to drop you off somewhere I can drop you." I told him, "Just pull off to the side right there. This is exactly where I got dropped off last year." He did and I crawled through the same hole in the fence I crawled through last time. I'm going to walk to the truckstop now.

I repeat, It is my consistent-persistency which will ensure the success of this mission! Just like last year.

Even though I'm coming home a little early.

I still have my quadforce of wealth intact. Everything. My mission is going great.

Now, all I need is some weed. Hehe, just watch me score some at the truckstop. Like I did last year! Please Love, please Love. I've been doing some good work. Please grant me some marijuana.

2:26pm  Just like last year, turning right on Airport Drive.

City of Ontario. Too bad I don't have a cigarette so I can sit down and smoke like I did last time.

2:41pm  I'm coming up on Milliken Street. I remember this street. I turn right.

3:05pm  I have an update to make. I came to the TA truckstop where I came last year. Right away some Indian manager saw me and told me I couldn't be here. I told him, "I'm going to use the restroom." I came to use the restroom, but I knew he would run me out the second he saw me again. I pulled out this little book that Bhanu gave me. It has the Sikh symbol and it says, "Man's Destiny Universal Human Code of Conduct." I'm going to look for that Indian manager and show him this. I'll ask him, "Does this mean anything to you?" I'll show him the peace tattoo on the back of my neck too. I'll tell him that I'm a missionary trying to bring peace to the world.

If he still runs me out I'll tell him, "Don't you see you are treating me just like the Babylonians treated Jesus?"

3:20pm  The security guard came up to me and told me shit. I told him I wanted to talk to the manager.

                   Please Love, help me out.

3:34pm  I went up to the manager's office and he started yelling at me to leave right when I walked in his office. Before I go, I'm going to go see the chaplain at that mobile chapel they got here. Let's see if he remembers me.

I came up to the chaplain and he immediately said, "Haven't seen you in a long time." He remembered me and he gave me another sandwich. I appreciate it, brother.

4:25pm  I got ran out of the truckstop. That sucks. I went and showed the manager that Sikh symbol. He didn't care. He told me if I didn't leave he was going to call the police.

I'm going to walk to this mall and get a courtesy ride on the bus.

4:30pm  I saw this homeless dude Joe lying down on the other side of the fence of the truckstop. He's hitchhiking too. He gave me some change for bus fare. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

4:55pm  I got on the 61 going to Pomona. This old lady got all mad because I made her wait. She told me, "Most people have their change ready before they get on the bus!" I told her, "Well tough shit, lady. Complaining won't do shit, grandma."

5:18pm  I got off on Holden Grove. I think I'm going the wrong way. I should be going East. Fuck LA. I'm not going to go to LA. I'm going to skip town. As far East as I can get on a bus. To Fontana.

5:21pm  The 61 came going the other way, I told the driver, "Hey, I paid full fare and realized I got on the wrong bus. I got off and I only have sixty cents. Can I get a ride?" The bus driver told me, "No, you need $1.15." I told him, "Maybe the next guy won't be such a greedy ass."

5:34pm  Carlos hooked me up with some change for the bus in front of the bus stop. I appreciate it, brother.

6:20pm  Daphne, the bus driver on the 61 hooked me up with a transfer that I needed. I don't have to get a courtesy ride. I appreciate it, Daphne.

6:36pm  I got dropped off at the corner of Marigold and J Avenue. I'm going to catch the 19 over here. Then I'm going to catch the 8 to Yucaipa, Daphne told me.

Oh yeah, Daphne hooked me up with a daypass!

I went through Ontario and Fontana. I'm going to be in Redlands and I'll see where I go from there. Aiming for Palm Springs.

7:14pm  I was on the bus and this guy Richard started talking to me. I told him I was on a mission and I told him what I was doing. He just gave me a bike! A mountain bike. I appreciate it, brother.

8:10pm  Rob is hooking me up with a cigarette in Redlands. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

8:19pm  Oh yeah, on the bus to Redlands Mall I met this forty year old dude, who looks young. He told me he knew where I could get some weed. I'm going to give him the bike. Oh yeah, this guy just gave me a bike on the bus. Some old Huffy. I'll trade that bike for a little nugget. Even less. I'd even give it away. It's not like I paid for it.

I don't think he's going to get me any weed, but he invited me home and said he'd cook me dinner for my cause. Awesome. I asked him if he had a garage or backyard I could crash in, but he said no.

8:50pm  Let me make an update here. The guy who said he was going to cook me dinner took off in a car while I was in the restroom. I'm going to ride the bus to Yucaipa and find a place to sleep. I'll try to hitchhike to Texas in the morning.

9:15pm  Steve hooked me up with a cigarette at the 7-11 on Yucaipa Blvd and Sand Cyn.

9:43pm  I came to the 7-11 on Yucaipa and Sand Canyon. The guy working inside hooked me up with a cigarette. Oh, these two girls walked out and I hit them up for my story. They were all excited about it. This one lady, who's a teacher who was bragging about her teaching skills, when I asked her what the world's greatest problem was she said ignorance! She wouldn't listen to me one bit though. Some forty year old teacher. I told her, "Well, can I at least tell you about my odyssey." She said, "Well, can I go to my motel room and get a cigarette? I'll be right back." I told her, "Sure, can I bum one when you come back?" She said yeah, but she's probably never coming back.

11:03pm  The owner just ran me out of the hotel room at Yucal Motel. I wasn't doing anything. He knocked on the door and said, "No visitors!" I told him, "I'm not going to spend the night. I was just talking to my friends here." He told me, "You can't have visitors." I told him, "It's a motel. They paid you money. Why not?"

11:14pm  Man, I have an awesome update to make. Earlier, I caught the bus out to Yucaipa. I walked to the 7-11 and bummed a cigarette off the cashier. These two girls came out, some teacher. I was having a blast talking to this girl. At first I thought, "Damn, this girl isn't going to listen to me at all." She told me she was going to go to her motel room and get a cigarette and come right back. I didn't believe her at all. She actually came back though. I tried telling my story some more, but she still kept interjecting. Then something really cool happened. I thought, "She came back, so she must be interested in my story, but yet she keeps interrupting. Hmm, I can use this as practice for remembering where I left off in my story and continue." I ended up having a blast telling this girl my story, between interruptions. We were both having lots of fun. We had a huge conversation. I got into the marijuana part and when I finished I asked her, "Don't suppose you could smoke this brother out?" She said sure! She had some at her motel room!

We went to the motel room and smoked. Man, the story-telling got so much better after that. I was really enjoying myself, so was this girl. Then the dickhead manager came and told me I had to leave. In the end he said it was because I was too loud, but at first he just kept repeating No Visitors. I would've understood if he told me I was being too loud from the beginning.

Me and her walked me out to the parking lot and we kept talking for like fifteen minutes more. She was cracking up at all the funny parts. It was awesome. I really wish I would've gotten her name. She gave it to me, I just never mentioned it. Oh yeah, then I noticed that there were all these cops out in front of the 7-11. I told her, "Great! I'm going to go tell those cops my story."

I got their email addresses though. The younger girl's was roxyonyx@hotmail.com and mskennedynhs@aol.com. Mskennedy was the teacher.

I took their picture and everything.

Oh yeah, after I finished talking to her I noticed there were all these cops in front of the 7-11. I went to these cops, the sheriffs and I told them my story! One listened to the whole thing. He had a lot of stuff to say about the marijuana. He was all saying how the human body was pure and that technology was the thing killing the world. I told him, "It can be used for good, too." He wished me luck in the end.

Oh yeah, and I asked him, "Know where I can find a place to camp around here where the cops won't bother me?" He told me, "Just go in that field across the street. No one will bother you." Haha, that cop directed me a campsite! I had even gotten warnings about the Yucaipa cops, that they were dicks.

                     Owned to the bone!

That teacher girl kicked me down some weed too! The universe provides. Thank you, Love. I had been all bummed out.

11:50pm  I just went back to the motel room because I had forgotten my chocolate milk that they'd bought for me. At first I went to room #5 and knocked on the door. Then I realized #15 was their room. I went back and got my chocolate milk and she asked me, "Do you need money?" She gave me ten dollars! I told her, "I don't know when I'm going to send out the emails. I've decided I'm going to do it from the latest ones I've gotten to the oldest, so yours will be one of the first." She told me, "Don't worry. It was worth it just having this experience with you."

Next day..
