Guernesville to Berkeley, CA

Saturday October 16, 2004

8:05am  Last night was excellent. Jen and I, we drank some wine. I got a lot of resin out of her pipe. She doesn't smoke that much. We sat down and played cards. We played poker. I started rubbing her feet and giving her a foot massage. She just leaned back and almost fell asleep. I had to go to the restroom and when I came back she had gotten in her bed and I mustered up the balls to ask her, "Hey, can I sleep next to you? Just cuddling, no funny stuff." She said sure. So bam, I got a cuddle-buddy last night. It was so excellent. I slept like a baby. I really hope I don't fall for Jen. I can't, I'm on a mission and I have to keep moving. She had told me, "I can support your cause." I had just met her yesterday and I ended up with a cuddle-buddy. How awesome.

Thank you, Love. Thank you, Love. For everything. My mission is evolving just fine. I'm not worried that I'm taking too long. Things are happening as they should. Perfect.

And Jen was almost perfect, man

1:50pm  I haven't made an entry all morning. We're on our way to, I'm skipping town. Jen's going to take me to Santa Cruz, I think.

2:34pm  We stopped at a Chevron. We're in the city already. Some city. There's an Extra Mile Chevron. Oh yeah, I gotta tell you. Something happened with Jen. I hope she wasn't uncomfortable last night because I held her and cuddled with her. I told her, "I'm sorry if you felt smothered last night." This morning she came up to me while I was on her computer. Oh yeah! I got three backups now. She had a computer with a CD burner. She came up to me and said, "I'm going to take you to Santa Cruz today." Ahh, that was my sign to leave. She had told me I could stay and type up my stuff. Man, she has been an excellent contributor to my mission. She's hot.

Oh yeah, I'm in Berkeley again! Back on Telegraph. Oh yeah, Jen just gave me a ride all the way over here. We had gone with her friend, some black dude to score some weed at the Cannabis Club in Oakland. He hooked me up with a nug. Perfect.

4:47pm  Man, I'm excited. I'm going to go to People's Park and sit down. Oh yeah, Jen is really cool. I only have good things to say about Jen.

Let's see how long it is before somebody recognizes me.

4:53pm  I ran into Pete, he recognized me from last year. In no time. I just walked in the park.

Oh yeah, I lost my cities list. That sucks, dude. I have to go to the library and sit down and write it out again.

5:25pm  I tried telling this girl playing the violin my story, but she wouldn't listen to me. I got to the marijuana part and as soon as I told her, "They didn't call them peace pipes for nothing," she says, "Oh no, they smoked tobacco out of those." She went on this whole explanation about how when the white man would smoke it they supposedly wouldn't lie. That that's why the white man called it the peace pipe.

I told her, "I don't know, it just fits the story real good, hehe."

5:26pm  I came to Eid's and he's going to hook me up with another cassette. I walked in and he recognized me. I told him, "Hey, this is becoming a tradition now. Don't suppose you could hook me up with another tape?" He hooked it up.

Just like old times. I scored me two cassettes. How perfect.

5:29pm  Someone else I just ran into. This guy named Dopey. I had met him as Rain, he said.

5:30pm  Haha, Slim just walked by! He told me, "I fuckin' popped you last time you were here(12-14-03, 8:55am) and you called the police on me."

5:48pm  Max just walked by and he gave me some bread. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

Ok Great Spirit. Should I stay in Berkeley or should I skip town? Give me a sign to stay or else I'm going to leave.

5:55pm  I'm walking into the UC Berkeley Campus. I'm going to use the library. This guy sitting on the bench, he recognized me and said, "Aye, Boricua!" It was this Puertorican brother Benito I knew from last year. He was all glad to see me. He gave me a big hug and everything.

Oh yeah, I told Benito about how I was thinking about skipping town. He told me, "Yeah, the rain season is about to start."

I'm going to go check my email first. I'm going to see if that little trail to the library is still there.

7:00pm  I checked my email and then I went to my little smoking spot in that corner right next to the building. I took a hit of weed and then I spotted some kid in the bushes who had been walking by and just stopped to take a piss. He didn't see me so I told him, "Hey man, I'm right here," so he wouldn't piss right in front of me. He came over and asked me, "What are you doing here?" I told him, "Ahh, just chilling. This is the little trail I take to get to the library. The library's closed so I came here to smoke. Can I tell you a really interesting story?" I didn't get through that much with him. He had to go. His friends were all calling him and shit. He's going to tell his friends though. That's funny.

7:15pm  Maya is giving me a courtesy ride to the Bart Station. I appreciate it, Maya. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

Cool, cool. I guess I am meant to go. I got on and asked her if she would give me a courtesy ride and she said, "Sure."

Okay, I asked directions to get to Santa Cruz. I gotta catch the Fremont train to Macarthur and transfer to the San Francisco train.

7:26pm  Since I don't have any money I have to go up to street level and spange up the Bart-fare. I was telling Kara my story and Rick just came up and handed me some Doritos. I appreciate it, brother.

7:36pm  It's about time I made an entry. I came over and I'm standing outside the entrance, the stairs going down to the Bart Station. I'm going to ask for spare change.

8:24pm  I asked July for spare change for the Bart and she gave me a a free ticket. I appreciate it, July. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

Looks like I am meant to go.

That ticket that girl gave me only had fifteen cents on it. Damnit. I still need like three dollars. I need $4.10 to get to Fremont.

9:13pm  Not only did Christi and her boyfriend attentively listen to my story, she also gave me fifty cents for Bart Fare. I appreciate it, Christi. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

9:17pm  I'm going to walk to Hate Camp.

10:57pm  I just took my last hit of weed earlier. I was all bummed out I didn't have any more. I just walked by and some guy offered to give me a nugget. James. I appreciate it, brother.

Next day..
